It is said by many different sources that the closer to and on ovulation your chances of having a boy are greater due to the fact that the Y sperm are faster swimmer thus, get to the egss faster. It is also said by many that days 6,5,4, and 3 are the best days to concieve a girl as this leaves the chance for the Y sperm to die off and the X a chance tomake it to the egg without a race as much.

What do you think? Timing of intercourse and acidity or not seems reasonable explanation fir the selection of gender.

Doesn't this make it harder to conceive a girl because it is so far away from ovulation?

you are right on both counts, and if you have sex several days before ovulation (allowing only the longer lived x-sperm to survive), then the overall chances of getting pregnant go down too.

in theory then, people that are having difficulty getting pregnant, should not be using methods that would favor trying for a girl.
